How Do I Change the Root Password on a VDS?

KVM

You can change the root password in the VDS control panel:

Go to Settings (Параметры) → click Change Password (Сменить пароль)



We recommend selecting Generate Secure Password (Сгенерировать наденый пароль). Then enter the confirmation word CONTINUE and click Continue (Продолжить). The password will be changed within five minutes.



The Change Password (Сменить пароль) button may be unavailable on some older OS images. In this case, you should use Recovery Mode.

Hyper-V

You can change the root password in the VDS control panel:

Go to Configuration (Конфигурация) → click Change VDS Administrator Password (Изменить пароль администратора VDS).



Enter the new password and confirm it, then click Change Password (Сменить пароль). The password will be changed within five minutes.
