Two-factor authentication is an advanced method of controlling access to your RU-CENTER account. When two-factor authentication is enabled, you must provide more than one "proof" that you own the account. This significantly increases account security and prevents it from being hacked.

To enable two-factor authentication:

Step 1: log in to the “Manage your account” section and go to "Security settings" -> "Two-factor authentication";

Step 2: set up one or more two-factor authentication methods: when you try to access your account, you can choose the preferred method of receiving a verification code;

After configuring and confirming at least one verification method, two-factor authentication will be automatically enabled for your account.

Two-factor authentication can be enabled for both your Administrative and Technical passwords.

Step 1: log in to the “Manage your account” section;

Step 2: go to "Security settings" -> "Two-factor authentication" -> select "Configure" in "via SMS”;

Step 3: specify the mobile phone number which will be used for sending the verification codes;

Step 4: enter the verification code in the “Phone verification” step.

You can enable verification via the Yandex.Key and Google Authenticator apps.

Step 1: log in to the “Manage your account” section;

Step 2: go to "Security settings" -> "Two-factor authentication" and select "Configure" under the item with the name of the app that you wish to use for verification.

Step 3: launch the app and scan the QR code in the mobile app. You can also enter the configuration key manually. The configuration key is shown under the QR code.

Step 4: enter the code shown in the mobile app to verify that you are the owner of the account.

If you don't have the mobile app installed, you can do it by clicking on the link to the app store available on the page.

If you have access to your RU-CENTER account and device receiving verification codes:

Step 1: log in to the “Manage your account” section;

Step 2: go to "Security settings" -> "Two-factor authentication";

Step 3: Select “Disable” option in configured two-factor authentication methods. Once all methods are disabled, two-factor verification will stop working for your account.

You can re-enable two-step verification by configuring one or more verification methods.

If you do not have access to your RU-CENTER account and device receiving verification codes:
