Who will be the registrant after domain registration?

The registrant of domain is a person or organization who filled out the form.

How do I know the registrant’s name?

Public data on the registrant is available via Whois service. Full information about the registrant may only be provided through the court order, law enforcement inquiries or advocatory request.

How can I transfer domain to another person?

There are two options for domain transfers:

How to transfer my domain to another person by a letter?

To transfer domain to another registrant a losing registrant is required to submit an official letter and gaining registrant has to accept the domain via RU-CENTER web-interface. More details about domain transfer are available here.

How can I get a domain registration certificate?

You may print out the copy of the domain certificate in "Manage your account" → "My domains".

A registrant may get a domain certificate by submitting a request to ru-ncc@nic.ru with specification of the domain name and delivery option.

Original of the domain ownership certificate may be obtained:

  • through the letter to the registrant’s address;
  • in RU-CENTER office.

How can I transfer a single or multiple domains support from the list of domains registered in RU-CENTER to RU-CENTER partner (without registrant’s change)?

Then the registrant should submit an official letter to RU-CENTER with a request to transfer part of the services from RU-CENTER to the RU-CENTER partner.

A copy of the letter may be submitted by fax +7 (495) 737-0602 or to email address ru-ncc@nic.ru.

Also, the registrant may initiate a RU-CENTER-to-partner, partner-RU-CENTER, or partner-to-partner services transfer (without registrant’s change).

Will my site be working during domain transfer period?

Yes, for the domain transfer period the site will be working. Registrant or registrar transfer has no effect on domain function.

Will the date, by which the domain has been paid, remain unchanged during domain transfer?

Yes, after domain transfer the registration expiry date will remain unchanged.

How can I transfer additional services to another contract without domain ownership transfer?

Additional services are transferred based on an official letter. More details about domain transfer are available here.

How can I transfer a domain and additional services at the same time?

If a domain and additional services (Primary, Secondary, Web-forwarding, Domain Redirection, Mail Redirection, Hosting) are administered under the same contract, you may place a request for the domain and additional services thereto in one letter.

If additional services are administered under another contract, you will be required to submit a separate letter for additional services transfer. The letter shall be issued on behalf of the holder of the contract under which the services are delivered.

How to accept ownership transfer?

Upon obtaining a notification via email, a gaining registrant should confirm receipt of domains in section "Manage your account" → "Registrant change".

How can I pay for the "registrant change" service for the domain names in gTLDs and ccTLDs (COM, .NET, .ORG, etc.)?

The "Registrant transfer" service may be paid either by a gaining or losing party.
The registrant who will pay for the "Registrant change" service will be required to make a prepayment to the personal account with RU-CENTER and agree to funds withdrawal in "Manage your account" →"Orders"→ "Registrant change" by checking in column "Pay for the service".

If the Payer’s contract is managed by the Partner, the latter shall agree to funds withdrawal in "Manage your account" → "Orders" → "Registrant change".

I transfer domain to RU-CENTER from another registrar. How can I find out if the registrar has been changed?

After completion of the domain transfer to RU-CENTER the domain will be listed in services under your contract in "Manage your account" → "Services" → "Review and update data".

The information about order status for registrar change is available in "Manage your account" → "Orders" → "Order archive". You may also view the current registrar using Whois service.

How can I make account-to-account services transfer without registrant change?

Account-to-account services transfer without registrant change can be made by a request through the web interface: "Orders" → "Domains Transfer" → "Account-to-account". Make sure that no pending services are available (services renewal will be available next day after transfer).

How much time does a transfer take?

The services will be transferred within two business days. RU-CENTER will notify you about any changes via contact emails specified in the contract.

May I transfer services to the contract under partner management?

Yes, you may. Before transfer you will be required to:

  • conclude a contract with the partner;
  • notify your partner about your wish to transfer your domains and other services.
