September 30, 2009 the Council of Coordination Center for TLD RU took a decision to cancel specific domain types in RU TLD.

Effective February 1, 2010 all public use domains (PUBLIC type) will gain a limited use status (CORPORATE type). A change in domain type will abolish item 8.2.2 of the RIPN schedule for secondary level domains registration in RU TLD:

"Applications review, registration and delegation of public use domains shall be made on equal terms for all registrants"
