Transfer of gTLD and foreign ccTLD domains to another registrar

If you are going to transfer domain name (.COM, .NET,.TV, .ME, .TEL, .TRAVEL,…) to another registrar, first of all you should unblock the domain name:

  • enter the "Manage your account" section;
  • specify your agreement number and administrative password;
  • choose the option "View and change data" in the "Services" menu;
  • find the service "<Domain name>Domain name registration";
  • click on "Status" in the "Change parameters" column;
  • uncheck the option "Registrar change prohibited";
  • click "on Save" button.

Also you should get the registry authorization code. In order to get the code send a request containing domain name, agreement number and password to the address tld-ncc@nic.ru.

After doing that you should contact the new registrar with a request to start the registrar change procedure in the registry.

After receiving a notification from the registry about beginning of registrar change procedure, RU-CENTER sends s request to the domain name administrator. In case the administrator disagrees, RU-CENTER sends to the registry a refusal to transfer domain name maintenance to another registrar.

In case the administrator agrees, RU-CENTER sends to the registry an agreement to transfer domain name maintenance to another registrar and removes the domain name from its database.

In case domain name administrator doesn't answer within 3 (three) calendar days (a fixed term), RU-CENTER does not answer to the registry's request, and after 5 (five) calendar days from the moment of registrar change procedure beginning the registry transfers domain name maintenance to another registrar and RU-CENTER removes the domain name from its database.

Registrar change will not be performed in case:

  • 60 days from the moment of domain name registration have not passed;
  • 60 days from the moment of last registrar change have not passed.
