Outbound Transfer of gTLD and ccTLD domains

For outbound transfer of domain names (.COM, .NET, .TV, .ME, .TEL, .TRAVEL, etc) you should first of all unlock the domain name. Therefore:

  • Log in to the "Manage your account" section;
  • choose the "Review and update data" option in the "Services" menu;
  • find the "<Domain name> Domain name registration" service;
  • click on the "Status" link in the "Parameters" column;
  • uncheck the "Registrar change is not allowed" option;
  • click on the "Save changes" button.

You should also get the registry authorization code. You should therefore send a request, containing domain name and agreement number to tld-ncc@nic.ru.

Then you should provide the new registrar with a request to start the registrar change procedure in the registry.

After receipt of a notification from the registry about registrar change procedure launch, RU-CENTER sends a request to the domain registrant. If the registrant disagrees, RU-CENTER will send to the registry a refusal to transfer domain name maintenance to another registrar.

If the registrant agrees, RU-CENTER sends to the registry an agreement to transfer domain name maintenance to another registrar and removes the domain name from its database.

If the domain registrant fails to respond within 3 (three) calendar days (a fixed term), RU-CENTER will not answer the registry's request, and after 5 (five) calendar days from the moment of registrar change procedure has been started the registry transfers domain name maintenance to another registrar, and RU-CENTER removes the domain name from its database.

Registrar change will not be performed in case:

  • 60 days from the moment of domain name registration have not passed;
  • 60 days from the moment of last registrar change have not passed.
